Sarita Malakar is the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at V2X, where she also serves as Corporate Secretary and Sustainability Officer. Her primary responsibilities include overseeing securities compliance, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Sarita joined V2X from Argo Group, where she was Assistant General Counsel – Securities and Assistant Secretary, focusing on securities compliance and corporate governance. Previously, she served as Director, Corporate Counsel at American Water, advising on SEC compliance, corporate governance, and strategic M&A transactions, while also promoting diversity and inclusion as co-chair of the company’s Employee Business Resource Group for women.
Before her in-house roles, Sarita was a corporate associate at major law firms in the U.S. and Singapore, including Arnold & Porter and Clifford Chance, advising clients on securities, M&A, and capital transactions. She began her career as a tax accountant at Deloitte & Touche and holds an inactive CPA license.
Born in Kathmandu, Nepal, Sarita earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School. She is also a Certified Corporate Governance Professional®.
